Free Mattress for Seniors – Charities

Our inventory changes daily and includes wheelchairs (both power and manual), pediatric wheelchairs, walkers, portable ramps, lift chairs, hospital beds, bariatric hospital beds, canes, crutches, bath and shower items, and MUCH more. We also offer new affordable medical items including incontinence, wound care, and ostomy products. All items are sold at drastically reduced costs—translating into huge savings on items that are often not fully covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.

Chosen serves as a distribution center for home health care items in the Erie, PA region. We receive gently used equipment and new supply items such as wheelchairs, walkers, transfer benches, shower chairs, bed canes, and unexpired diabetic supplies.

The Avon Grove Lions Club Hospital Equipment Program was started by Lion Gene McDowell in 1987 with equipment that was given to our club by the Newark, Del. Lions Club. They gave us a few manual hospital beds, a couple of wheelchairs, commodes, and walkers. Since the beginning of the program, we have accumulated a much greater variety of equipment, which we loan to anyone in the community who has a need. There is no charge for the equipment, but we do accept donations, which helps us to maintain a supply of equipment.

ALS Association provides DME equipment including mattresses. For example, the ALS Arizona chapter provides equipment that includes, but is not limited to, wheelchairs (manual and electric), transport chairs, hospital beds, canes, walkers, pressure mattresses, lifts, respiratory support devices, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), etc. Find your local chapter here.

The items we offer include; wheelchairs, ramps, bath chairs, mattresses, voice amplifiers, speech augmentative equipment, and communication boards. CCALS receives more than $500,000 annually in donated durable goods. We maintain a number of storage facilities where we refurbish and keep this equipment until a family needs it.

Devices 4 The Disabled refurbish used medical equipment that otherwise would end up in landfills. They provide it for free to those who need it most: those without insurance, who are underinsured or lack the finances to purchase the equipment they desperately need. Some of the equipment they routinely have include recline shower chair, Bath bench, Commode shower chair, Hospital bed, Standard mattress for hospital bed, Gel mattress for hospital bed, and more.
