  1. I would not recommend Hush Puppies as a brand after my father had a pair of pull on Transit Hush Puppies he wore when going out (hes in late 80’s, so going out is to shops). One day he was walking and noticed something wrong (yes walks with walker as has balance issues). The sole was disintegrating in chunks. So yes contacted Hush Puppies and would do nothing, said its hydrolysis. Well these shoes were only 6 mths old, and sorry 85 year olds dont keep receipts. Lucky he did not have a fall whilst wearing and soles were breaking up when out. This also happened to two pairs of my daughter-in-laws shoes, and same response, and shop Myers would not do anything. Said manufacturers problem. Hers were only 3 months old. My husband also had a pair of Transit and same thing happened to his. I do have my son’s school shoes which are hush puppies and over 7 years old and no problem whatsoever, so all I can think is they are maybe using second rated rubber on some soles, or perhaps its how the seller stores. Either way, I definitely would not recommend. This is only my family, and thats 4 pairs of not very old hush puppies. Secondly, regarding my dad’s age it was a miracle he didn’t fall when the sole came apart when out. Furthermore, hush puppies do not stand by guaranteeing there product otherwise they would have done something in either case. Too easy to blame on dampness and moisture. I have had plenty of mouldy shoes and the soles are perfect.
