Features of Nova GetGo Rolling Walker

NOVA Medical Products GetGo Petite Rollator Walker for Height 4’0” - 5”4”, Seat Height is 8.5”, Only 3 lbs, Blue

Three Sizes

The GetGo comes in three sizes: Classic, Junior, and Petite. The Classic size is ideal for users between 5’5” and 6’1”, and the Petite and Junior are perfect for those between 4’6” and 5’4”. Many shorter and smaller people have trouble finding a rollator that works for them, either due to size or weight. They can be uncomfortable to use, hard to push, and even harder to lift.

The difference between “Junior” and ‘Petite” models is the weight and width; the “Petite” is lighter and narrower, making it ideal for smaller people to use. This is a great benefit for people who have had to deal with inconvenient, bulky rollators. Taller people might feel left out by the GetGo, but there are plenty of rollators that cater to taller users as well!

Having the ability to choose between three different sizes of the same rollator means that you won’t have to sacrifice other features just to get the right size! Each GetGo model has the same great features; the only difference is height and weight.

Lightweight

The heaviest a GetGo will be is the 14-pound Classic. The Junior and Petite models are even lighter! Lightweight rollators have a serious advantage over heavier models; they’re easier to push, meaning you can go farther, faster, without losing your energy. Despite the lightness of the Nova GetGo rolling walker, each model can still hold an impressive 300 pounds! It’s made with a well-constructed, durable aluminum frame that can handle a lot without being too heavy.

If you’ve had other rollators, you know that they can get pretty heavy- up to 23 pounds! The GetGo is extremely light, while still having the same strength and features as its heavier competitors! This makes the GetGo a perfect option for people who are a bit frailer, have muscle or bone issues that make pushing rollators difficult, or people who like to stay out all day!

Feather Touch Brakes

Nova patented their braking system, which, as the name suggests, doesn’t take much pressure to engage. No matter your hand strength, you’ll be able to come to a complete, safe stop whenever you need to. This makes Nova rollators some of the safest on the market; the convenience of a wheeled walker is nullified when they don’t have good brakes to accompany them!

Feather Touch brakes are good news for seniors with arthritis, Parkinson’s, or recent injuries that make grasping things difficult. It also helps users deal with changes in terrain or sudden obstacles because they can stop on a dime before anything happens. For that same reason, it is a safe walker choice for people with fatigue or balance issues; you can engage the brakes at a moment’s notice to regain your footing!

Plush Seat

Each model of the Nova GetGo rolling walker has a plus, 2-inch thick seat that any user will find comfortable. This is a great benefit to people who need to stop and rest often, such as people with heart/lung issues or sciatic pain. You can stop for a while and feel refreshed in your rollator, rather than feeling cramped and hurting. It’s that little bit of extra cushion that can make the difference between a break that helps and a break that doesn’t!

Pros and Cons of Nova GetGo Rolling Walker

PROS

  • Perfect for Petite Users: there is hardly a rollator walker on the market that’s better for smaller users than the GetGo. The Petite model is both short and narrow, making it extremely comfortable for petite people to use!
  • Ultra-Lightweight: Even some three-wheeled rollators are 4-5 pounds heavier than the GetGo! This makes it easy to push faster and farther, as well as maneuver and steer around corners.
  • Safety from Brakes: “Feather Touch” brakes allow users to stay completely safe, even when something unexpected happens. Seniors with poor strength or health issues will have no trouble engaging the brakes and staying safe and independent.
  • Warranty: Nova Medical’s warranties are some of the best in the industry. Each GetGo has a limited lifetime warranty, as well as a full five-year warranty for the brakes!

CONS

  • Not for Taller People: Users above 6’2” should look elsewhere to find a comfortable rollator. The GetGo simply isn’t high enough for taller people to use it without having to stoop over.
  • Wheels Aren’t Great outdoors: The 6-inch wheels will do a passable job on light grass, but will likely give you trouble on other outdoor terrains. They’re well-made wheels, they just aren’t big or impact-absorbing enough to be great all-terrain options.

Who the Nova GetGo Rolling Walker Best For?

NOVA Medical Products GetGo Petite Rollator Walker for Height 4’0” - 5”4”, Seat Height is 8.5”, Only 3 lbs, Blue

The GetGo is an ideal walker for people who’ve had injuries or surgeries and need an easy braking system; it’s also great for health conditions affecting grip strength. Unlike a regular non-wheeled walker, it doesn’t require dragging and lifting. Unlike some other rollators, it doesn’t take lots of strength to steer or stop, either. Anyone can use the GetGo!

Additionally, the GetGo is perfect for people who’ve had rollators in the past that felt too heavy and too large to use. The Junior and Petite models cater specifically to people who need something lightweight and easy to maneuver. If you’ve struggled with rollators before, the GetGo will be a game-changer in terms of your freedom and independence!

Other Rollators You Might Like

1. Medlight Freedom Lightweight Rollator

This is a great lightweight rollator option that has an adjustable seat to go with the standard adjustable handlebars. This means it can be customized for any user between 4’10” and 6’4”! That’s an incredible range of height, one that few other rollators can match.

Outside of that, it’s very similar to the GetGo- easy-to-use, simple, and it weighs just under 12 pounds! It doesn’t have the nice seat or “Feather Touch” brakes, so it may not work for everyone, but it is an altogether impressive rollator!

2. Nova Traveler 3-Wheel Walker

Three-wheel walkers are light, easy to turn, and very convenient. The Nova Traveler doubles down on that convenience with eight-inch all-terrain wheels and two spacious storage compartments. It weighs about 17 pounds, so it’s actually heavier than the four-wheeled Nova GetGo rolling walker.

However, it’s a much better option for outdoor use and should be considered by people who like to be out and about for most of the day.

3. Medline Premium Empower Rollator Walker

This rollator has an extra-wide seat and 8-inch wheels that make seem like an “all-day indoor/outdoor” version of the GetGo. The seat and backrest are both large and very soft, making it ideal for people who tend to take more rest breaks. It only weighs four pounds more than the Nova GetGo, still very light for a four-wheel rollator.

For anyone who likes to spend long periods of time out of the house, this should be a walker at the top of their consideration list.

It’s designed to be used all day long; it’s sturdy, comfortable, and has the storage it needs to hold a day’s worth of belongings! Couple that with the all-terrain wheels, and you’re ready for just about anything!

Conclusion: Nova GetGo Rolling Walker

The Nova GetGo can be used outdoors, although the wheels are better suited for in-home uses.

If you’re looking for a great rollator that won’t drain your energy, the Nova GetGo should be your first choice!

  1. My mother in law has one of these. It is great. Very lightweight, just as your review suggests. The one issue: the carriage bag underneath is of very poor quality and ripped after just a few days. Nova was very kind about the problem and is sending a replacement. However, I am afraid that it will be of the same quality and will rip again soon.
