    HERO, Healthcare Equipment Recycling Organization, as it is known today, has become an important resource particularly for seniors, disabled children and adults, individuals who are financially struggling, and people who are looking for a good deal for medical supplies. Anyone can come to HERO and receive equipment and supplies at low to no cost.

    Donated supplies and equipment are collected from local healthcare facilities, agencies, and individuals.

    HERO proudly operates a retail space of 1200 square feet located at 5012 53rd St S, Ste C in south Fargo.

    For current availability of an item, pricing inquiries, or to reserve an item, please call us at 701-212-1921. Items may be reserved up to 3 days. Some restrictions may apply.

    Supplies to Donate or Purchase must be unopened/unused packs.

    HERO Cannot Accept:
    a) Equipment that is soiled or broken,
    b) Expired products,
    c) Exposed needles,
    d) Fabric mattresses,
    e) Mercury thermometers,
    f) Open or partial used personal hygiene items,
    g) Pill bottles,
    h) Prescriptions of any kind,
    i) Renal or peritoneal dialysis supplies,
    j) Items used with patients treated for C-Diff, MRSA or VRE.

ND Assistive is a non-profit organization that was designated by the former Governor Ed Schafer as the implementing entity for the Statewide Assistive Technology Act Program in 1993.

ND Assistive provides an online database called ND AT4ALL where anyone can list assistive technology equipment for sale, rent, trade, or donation. There are a number of state agencies, schools, private businesses, individuals, and lending programs that list items for sale, giveaway, demonstration, or loan.

The Short-Term Equipment Trial Program is a service that allows ND and MN residents with disabilities a 6-week trial of assistive technology. Individuals and professionals that serve people with disabilities may also access the service for their family members or clients.

    Effective October 1st, 2020, ND Assistive no longer charges fees to rent assistive technology through our Short-Term Equipment Rental Program. These six-week equipment trials are now FREE.

    Arrangements may be made for devices to be picked up from ND Assistive’s offices or shipped to the borrower’s home. The borrower is responsible for returning the devices to ND Assistive’s offices or paying the shipping fee to have the devices returned via a tracked shipping option (USPS, UPS, FedEx).

    a) Be sure to choose either of the following two programs: ASSISTIVE Fargo or ASSISTIVE Mandan.
