Program Description:
The Rhode Island Assistive Technology Access Partnership (ATAP) is designed as a statewide partnership of organizations, each with a targeted assistive technology focus, working together to improve access
to and acquisition of assistive technology for individuals with disabilities. ATAP Partners include Adaptive Telephone Equipment Loan Program (ATEL), East Bay Educational Collaborative (EBEC), Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL), and TechACCESS of RI.
ATAP’s main initiatives include:1. Device Demonstration,2. Device Loan,3. Device Re-Use,4. Training, Public Awareness, Collaboration, Information & Referral.

- 1Adaptive Telephone Equipment Loan Program (ATEL) provides landline/home telephones and wireless devices on loan to qualified individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, have a speech disability, or have neuromuscular damage or disease that hinders them from using a standard telephone.
- 2East Bay Educational Collaborative (EBEC)’s demonstration and lending library offers an array of AT devices to borrow and “try before you buy”.
- 3Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL) maintains an inventory of various types of AT available to the public for short or long term loan.

TechACCESS of Rhode Island – AT Device Lending
Program Description:
The Device Lending Program offers individuals the chance to borrow an assistive technology device to help them make an independent decision about what device will work best for them before making a financial commitment.
Borrow a device to see what suits your needs or as a short term accommodation if your device is being repaired or while you are waiting for the arrival of a purchased device.
