Program Description:
The purpose of West Virginia Assistive Technology System (WVATS) is to provide services and resources to help West Virginia residents of all ages and abilities make informed decisions about assistive technology.

The Pay it Forward West Virginia project provides long-term loans of pediatric equipment to qualifying families in West Virginia. Pay It Forward West Virginia is funded by a Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation Quality of Life grant. To receive equipment, families complete an application.
The child must be working with a physical or occupational therapist to make sure the item is fitted correctly. Returned items will be made ready for the next family.

Program Description:

WVATS also operates a device reuse program. This program takes donated devices and gets them back into the hands of West Virginia residents in need free of charge. Devices provided through the reuse program become the property of the individual receiving them, they do not need to be returned.

Program Description:
The WVATS Virtual Loan Library and Exchange System is a free on-line service to list and find assistive technology devices, disability related resources and durable medical equipment in West Virginia.

Individuals in West Virginia can borrow a device from the Virtual Loan Library from the comfort of their home, school or place of employment. Over 3,000 devices and resources are available for loan through the Library.
In addition to WVATS, other assistive technology lending and exchange programs in West Virginia are listing devices on the system. Each program has its own criteria for exchanging or lending equipment, which are described in the system.

Mountain State Centers for Independent Living is dedicated to increasing awareness of and accessibility to assistive technology for West Virginians of all ages and types of disabilities.

Wood County Senior Citizens Association, Inc. is a private nonprofit agency established in Wood County, WV, in 1975.
