University of Wisconsin–Madison Speech and Hearing Clinic (UWSCH) – WI Infant & Children’s Statewise Hearing Aid Exchange Service (WISHES)

Program Description:

The WISHES program provides hearing instruments for a six month period to newly identified deaf and hard of hearing children who are not Medicaid eligible and do not have other hearing aid insurance coverage.

This purpose of the WISHES program is to assure that all children (ages 0-18 years) identified with a hearing loss have access to auditory development of the brain through high quality hearing technology soon after identification.

The Wisconsin Lions Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of Wisconsin Youth and Adults.

The Wisconsin Lions Foundation offers low-cost hearing aids to Wisconsinites who cannot afford to purchase them on their own & who do not qualify for state-funded assistance. They accept as donations used eyeglasses and hearing aids.

The Health Equipment Lending Program at Good News Project (GNP) began in 2005 as our way to serve the local community. 

For those with limited income, little or no insurance, or the inability to qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, obtaining necessary equipment to remain independently living in the home can be overwhelming. The program is here to help individuals obtain these items at a level they can afford…to make life a bit easier.

Beginning in May 1984, our club has operated a medical equipment loan locker in order to serve the community. We collected over one million dollars’ worth of
