Features

“Fast” and “far” aren’t exaggerations with the EW36! This scooter has a top speed of 18 miles per hour, and can travel up to 45 miles on a single charge! It’s the best scooter on the market in both of those categories! If you want your scooter to feel truly unlimited, able to keep up with your lifestyle, this is the one!

It’s great for use in off-road conditions, even snow- but you’ll want to turn corners carefully as you would with any three-wheeled scooter. This is a scooter that’s easy to turn and squeeze into tighter spots, even though it is pretty big. Having three wheels makes maneuvering indoors and around corners a cinch. On top of all that, it has a 350-pound weight limit, making it a great fit for almost anyone!

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Go either very far (45 miles) or very fast (18 MPH)
  • Stylish “moped” style design; doesn’t look like a medical scooter
  • Tall, tough wheels for all-terrain use
  • Adjustable seat can accommodate users of any height

Cons

  • Three-wheeled scooters can tip when rounding corners too fast
  • Does not have electromagnetic brakes which would have added safety/stability

Who Should Buy It?

The EWheels 36 is a great option for people who have enjoyed long walks and hikes before having their mobility limited. You can ride for hours, in almost any weather, without worrying about falling or killing the battery.

It’s also a great choice for shopping and running errands. It can zip around from shop to shop on the sidewalk; then, once you’re inside, you have a scooter that can still navigate the aisles.

Lastly, it’s a great scooter for people looking to replace their car. If you’ve lost the ability to drive, or have relocated to a place where cars aren’t sensible, this scooter will give you all the freedom- and speed- that you need!

Best “All Day, All-Terrain”:EWheels EW72 Mobility Scooter

Features

This is another scooter that can go very far, and very fast! You can get up to 15 MPH or 43 miles, pretty impressive for a scooter! One of the best features of the EW72 is the “speed dial”. It gives you lots of control over how fast you’re going; you can speed up or slow down incrementally in a safe, smooth way. Compare that to cheaper scooters that lurch and jolt when you use the throttle, and you’ll see why that speed dial is so nice!

On top of that easy, smooth speed control, you get a great all-terrain scooter. It’s got large wheels with lots of grip to keep you safe and prevent you from getting stuck. It can handle nature trails, rides on the beach, and rocky paths with ease.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • 14-inch front 16-inch rear wheels, great stability
  • LED lights all-around
  • Speed dial gives total control over speeding up and slowing down

Cons

  • Wide 92” turning radius, hard to use indoors
  • Brakes are a bit too sensitive- will stop very quickly if traveling fast.

Who Should Buy It?

The EW72 is an ideal scooter for people who don’t want to feel trapped indoors because of limited mobility. It’s perfect for going about town, visiting farmer’s markets, and enjoying nature. From the golf course to the grocery store, the EW72 can keep seniors independent and socially active for years! It’s an ideal replacement for a car, so stroke survivors, too, can feel like they have a renewed independence.

Best for Indoor/Short Trips:EWheels EW35 Mobility Scooter

35″

Weight

88 lbs

Features

With a top speed of 4 MPH and a 9-mile range, this isn’t the kind of long-trekking scooter we’ve seen so far. However, it does have some great features that make it a perfect scooter for many people’s needs. First off, it has a swiveling chair that helps seniors get in and out of the scooter without risking injury. For people with leg/back issues, or people who cannot put too much pressure on their knees, this is much more than just a convenience; it’s a necessity.

The EWM35 also has a very low deck height, allowing seniors to get in and out safely. Lastly, this scooter is very compact, making it perfect for use indoors in places like grocery stores, doctor’s offices, and more!

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Lightweight (under 90 pounds) for easy storage
  • Compact, tight turning radius for indoor use
  • Swivel seat and low deck height is perfect for frail users

Cons

  • Not very fast, has a short range
  • May be uncomfortable for users above 6’2”

Who Should Buy It?

If you need your scooter to use in your home, or like to spend your social time indoors, this is the scooter for you! Mobility scooters are a great way to stay social and engaged in your life– and the EWM35 is compact enough that you won’t get stuck in a hallway or corner.

The EWM35 is also ideal for seniors who have medical issues that make getting into a chair difficult, such as Parkinson’s, back injuries, low vision, or knee weakness. Using the swivel seat and low seat height makes it easy for anyone to enjoy a safe, comfortable ride!

Best Heavy-Duty:EWheels EW38 Mobility Scooter

E-Wheels EW-38 High Power Fast 3 Wheel Heavy Duty Mobility Scooter (Red)

E-Wheels EW-38 Mobility Scooter

Length

61″

Width

36″

Height

54″

Weight

200 lbs

Features

This scooter is very similar to the EW36, but it has a stellar weight capacity- 500 pounds. Even with that weight, it can ride for up to 43 miles on a single charge! If you’ve been let down by bariatric scooters that can’t keep up with your lifestyle, the EW38 might be exactly what you’re looking for!

It’s equipped with well-made tires and shocks that give it great off-road ability, even though it is a three-wheeled scooter. The real treat of the EW38, though, is the performance level of the scooter’s electromagnetic brakes. When you’re going fast, the brakes will slow you down smoothly; when you’re going slow, the brakes adjust and stop you faster. You can even ride downhill in this scooter (as long as you’re not gunning the throttle) without risking a fall!

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Tight turning radius- 63”
  • Faster than most bariatric scooters
  • Good security- key fob and loud alarm system
  • Electromagnetic brakes perform at high level of efficiency and comfort

Cons

  • Can tip around corners because it only has 3 wheels
  • Seat is missing a headrest some users might need
  • Heavy packaging, can be hard to assemble
  • Not intended for indoor use

Who Should Buy It?

This scooter is ideal for users who are too heavy for other models. With a 500-pound weight limit and a powerful battery, heavier persons will feel liberated and independent! Many bariatric scooters can’t replicate the kind of range and speed that the EW38 has, nor are they as good off-road. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty mobility scooter that won’t disappoint, put the EW38 on top of your list!

Best “Sporty” Scooter:EWheels EW11 Mobility Scooter

E-Wheels - EW-11 Sport Euro Type Scooter - 3-Wheel - Red/White

E-Wheels – EW-11 Scooter

Length

67″

Width

29″

Height

38″

Weight

209 lbs

Features

This scooter will have you feeling like you stepped onto a Vespa, not a mobility scooter. It’s got a stylish, sporty design and the performance to back it up! With an 18 MPH top speed and a 40-mile range, you can run to the grocery store and back in no time! It’s perfect for running errands, visiting with friends, and taking day trips around town.

The EW11 has tons of storage space, too! You can fit all your groceries, post office packages, and more without losing them as you ride! This is the perfect scooter for casual use on roads and sidewalks- it’s okay off-road, but definitely not intended to be an all-terrain scooter.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Sporty, stylish design
  • High-speed and long-range for great day trips
  • Anti-theft alarm system included
  • Lots of storage

Cons

  • Not intended for serious medical needs
  • Basic seat may become uncomfortable
  • Not great for off-road use

Who Should Buy It?

This scooter is perfect for people who need a scooter with some zip to get them around town. It’s not ideal for medically-necessary uses; the seat is too small and it can be hard to get into. If you’re looking for a scooter that will be convenient, sleek, and handy, this is it! It’s ideal for people who have just moved into a retirement community or to a smaller town where a scooter is all they need!

EWheels Mobility Scooter Buyer’s Guide: What You Need to Know

What is the Background of EWheels Mobility?

EWheels Mobility has been in business for over ten years. They specialize in making scooters and motorized wheelchairs for medical and pleasure purposes. EWheels scooters have a great mix of performance, health benefits, and fun!

Many mobility scooter companies make rather boring scooters that don’t do much to fix the negative stereotype scooter users can feel. EWheels scooters, however, are just as fun to ride as they help improve your quality of life!

Where are EWheels Mobility Scooters Made?

EWheels is headquartered in the United States, and they design their scooters locally. The scooters are made of Chinese parts that are assembled in a factory in the USA, a standard practice for many electronics/technology companies.

“Made in China” has a bit of a negative reputation, because many items made there are low-quality and break easily. While that stereotype can be true of low-cost toys and knick-knacks, Chinese manufacturing is among the best in the world when it comes to electronics and technology.

Plus, the scooters are assembled by highly trained workers in America and have safety checks performed on them! So, you can trust that your EWheels scooter is durable and well-made!

What is the Price Range for EWheels Mobility Scooters?

Many EWheels mobility scooters are going to be in the range of 1,500-4,000 dollars. Some are less expensive, such as the EWM35 which costs less than $1,000. That price range, while not terribly expensive or out of the norm for mobility scooters, still might raise some eyebrows. Remember, though, that EWheels scooters almost always go farther and faster than their competitors!

Tips for Buying an EWheels Mobility Scooter

Consider Your Needs

While many EWheel scooters can be a great deal of fun, they’re not perfect for everyone. If you have more serious medical needs, or you need to fit into tighter indoor spaces, consider a model like the EWM35, which is built for people who need assistance in the home and outside!

Off-Road or On Sidewalk?

If you like to golf, hit the trails, or spend time on the beach, make sure your choice of mobility scooter can handle the terrain! That means you’ll need to make sure it has large, sturdy tires, good suspension, and a high deck clearance. If off-roading isn’t important to you, perhaps opt for a model that can turn corners easily, like the EW38!

Storage Capacity

A scooter that can’t hold your things is more of a toy than a beneficial mobility aid! Before buying an EWheels mobility scooter, check to see if it can carry your groceries, packages, and (most importantly) medical equipment with you!

Conclusion: EWheels Mobility Scooters

EWheels mobility scooters aren’t just helpful in improving your quality of life- they’re also fun to have! Nearly every EWheels model goes faster and has a farther range than what you’d find in another mobility scooter manufacturer. Mobility scooters are a great way to maintain your social life and independence, even if you have limited mobility. If you’re looking for a scooter that has the things you need, along with some high-performance fun and style, EWheels mobility scooters are perfect for you!

I purchased the ew-19 and couldn’t be happier. As I live in a town on a hill I feel the brake pads we I’ll be first to go. I do not want to have to wait for a set to be delivered so I would like to purchase both front and rear so to have them when needed. Where can I do this?
